About School Garden Fund: This will help provide vegetable garden starts to school gardens in flagstaff!
About FarmShare Fund: This project seeks to connect families who have limited incomes with local, sustainably and organically grown produce from our farm. We will be creating a farm share, also known as a CSA (community supported agriculture), for families who are currently eligible for WIC, AHCCS or SNAP, or who earn 30% or less of median income for Flagstaff. Participants will pay $50 and will receive a share of produce (normally valued at $150) each week throughout the share season.
Flagstaff Foodlink‘s Grower’s Grant helped start the FarmSharing Fund by funding the first five full season shares in 2017, and we were able to raise money for five additional shares that season. In 2009 we raised money thought our FarmSharing donations and were able to continue the program. We got lots of good feedback from shareholders and many would like to continue again this year. We are hoping to raise additional money to increase the number of shares we can provide this season. All money donated will directly benefit community members with limited incomes. Your donations are greatly appreciated!
Details about the FarmSharing Program: Qualifying community members will pick up produce weekly at the Farm or at Flagstaff Community Market (Sundays 8a-12p downtown). Each week will include approximately $10 worth of fresh produce from Forestdale Farm. Participants will pay $50 and will receive approximately $150 worth of produce throughout the season!
